ANGELA KAYE LOTT

Musician, Concert Master, Educator, Ambassador for MS

Angela Kaye Lott has been living with MS since 1992 and is still playing the violin, which she began at the tender age of six!

Her inspirational efforts as a musician, concertmaster and vocalist have afforded her many interesting collaborations over these years. Angela has been privileged to work with and be coached by many renowned entertainers within the Gospel and Orchestral communities.

She is pleased to recount that Gospel artists Marvin Winans and Fred Hammond, former DSO Concert Master, Emannuelle Boisvert and vocal coaches Pat Smith and Gordon Findlay are included among her affiliates. One of the highlights in Angela’s personal performance accomplishments include having served as the Concert Master for the play Revelation of Jesus Christ by Tyrone Hemphill.

Angela has been giving back to the community, academically as well, for the better part of her life. For 30 years she’s been a teacher in the public school system, and also taught for 22 years at both the Wayne State University Weekend School of Music and the Center for Creative Studies – Music. Currently, Angela runs the String Program at PACE Academy in Southfield.

In addition to her full time role educating eager students, Angela has been serving our community as a passionate national advocate and ambassador on behalf of folks, like herself, living with MS. She has traveled throughout the U.S. appearing as a speaker and performer at various functions, including our event tonight. She believes that her mission and work encouraging MS patients is far from completed. Angela’s vision is to be able to expand her outreach and to travel globally on her mission platform.
